Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!

The International community has defined the threat of the international terrorism as the main challenge to humanity and declared the necessity of system approach to the struggle against this global evil.

The counteraction to modern terrorism requires complex actions, where together with the complex of state legal actions and force measures the main should be the active position of social institutions. That is why in 2003 the International Non-Governmental Organization ‘International Antiterrorism Unity’ (IAU) was established.

Nowadays the IAU embraces 21 regional offices in Ukraine and 7 offices abroad (Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Hungary, Russia, Baltic States, Czech Republic) uniting more than 30000 members.

The IAU cooperates with a number of public and non-governmental organizations from the Commonwealth of Independent Member-States, the Baltic, the Balkan and the Middle East states, as well as the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and other international organizations.

In January 3, 2006 the IAU became the first Ukrainian NGO enjoying the Participatory Status with the Council of Europe activities.

Proceeding from the complicacy of the fight against terrorism and the necessity to form a wide public front to solve the problem, we have the honour to invite citizens, employees of different organizations, all those who are concerned about terrorism, feel responsibility for the safe life and existence on the Planet, to join the IAU and take part in its activities.
